In the spring of 2004, we began construction on a new home in Panorama, B.C.  We were looking for someone to build our front door, master bedroom double doors, and fireplace mantles.  Our builder introduced us to Shawn Tegart whose crew was doing some of  the finishing details, and who had done many custom woodworking projects from staircases to bars, railings and furniture.

A lot of the work Shawn showed us was beautifully built, but there weren't many examples of the artistic application we had in mind for our project.  We were a little nervous at first as it was a significant 'step of faith' to turn Shawn loose on the first project - the front door.  We couldn't have found anyone to create the finished result with more feel and artistic interpretation.  It is truly beautiful and unique work.

Shawn went on to build & carve our bedroom doors, mantles, loft railing with a ship ladder, built in entry bench an d a stunning 7'x5' coffee table with walnut base. This last item weighs approx. 450 Ibs, and is a masterpiece of artwork. Each of the projects commissioned have been out of the ordinary and our delight in the results has mostly to do with Shawn's ability to not only produce exceptional quality, but to transcribe the artistic vision of what we saw in our mind for each project.

Any hesitation in recommending Shawn's work would be our selfish desire to keep his work and availability our "best kept secret". However, his talent richly deserves to be interpreted to it fullest exposure.
